Brown Rice & Peas

bullet1 1/3 Cups raw brown rice
bullet2 2/3 Cups hot water
bullet1 Cup fresh shelled or frozen green peas
bullet1/2 Cup dry split peas, cooked until just tender
bullet1/2 Cup grated cheese (optional)

Cook rice until almost all of liquid is absorbed.  Stir in the fresh or frozen peas and cook about 1 minute until warm.  Don't overcook.  Add the cooked split peas and grated cheese.

The combination of the brown rice and dry split peas gives complimentary protein.  The cheese may be omitted.

Rice & Veggies

bullet1 cup brown rice
bullet1/4 cup lentils
bullet1/4 cup split peas
bullet1/4 cup barley

Add

bullet1 3/4 cup water - microwave on high for 30 minutes.

Add

bullet1/4 cup couscous
bullet1/4 cup frozen corn
bullet1/4 cup frozen peas
bulletSeason with hot pepper flakes

For variations: add broccoli, carrots, cooked beans of any kind, or any veggie you have on hand.  Petamine can also be added to individual servings.  This mix can be frozen and then taken out ahead of time to thaw.
